When size does matter

I sit here, struggling to get to the weekend.  Mostly, for relaxation and Bill Mahar on HBO, Friday at 11pm.  I find his shows amusing, if not informative.  Have any of you checked out HBO’s latest show called True Blood?  How hot and gay friendly is that show?  Ryan Kwanten (Jason) is really sexy and shows off his beautiful body at every opportunity.  He loves sex (with women) and was easily convinced to dance for a gay website in-exchange for some Viagra.  Damn Breeders!  They will do anything to keep it up.  Jason is NOT a vampire…yet!  Did I mention that most vampires are bisexual?

There are at least two gay characters on the show.  Thank you executive producer Alan Ball.  Alan also produced another one of my favorite shows, Six Feet Under.  From LA Times: When asked if vampires stood in for some underlying message about gay rights, executive producer Alan Ball told reporters Thursday afternoon at the TV press tour no. “I really don’t look at the vampire as a metaphor for gays,” he said. “For me, part of the fun of this whole series is that it’s about vampires, so it’s not that serious,” he said. “However, they do work as a metaphor for gays . . . for anyone that’s misunderstood. At the same time it’s not a metaphor at all.”

Interesting…  Did I mention that Alan Ball is gay and out?

Back to my life, you know–the important shit.
On Wednesday, Ed bought another pair of Lady Gouldian Finches.

My bloggers will remember that we returned to Pittsburgh from Rehoboth Beach with a male and female pair back in August.  I am sure he will be selling babys soon.  Ed has agreed not to let our house become a breeding facility for birds.

Thursday night was all about open houses, football and debates.  If you like college sports and live in the ‘burgh, you had to be in your glory Thursday night.  Pitt beat the #10 team in the country on live national TV.  Hail to Pitt!

Like most Americans, I turned in to the vice presidential debate looking for a train wreck.  The aftermath of the Pulin/Couric suggested one was heading that way.  Although it did not happen this day, the only thing I believe the debate did was stop the bleed from the Palin and Katie Couric train wreck interview.  http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4493093n

It was our junior high school’s annual open house on Thursday. We sat through nine of the boys’ classes and were very please with the school district and most of the teachers.  It is a challenge to meet with each teacher when you have two children in the same grade.

Did you know I am driving a Hummer?  Our Saturn Outlook is in the repair shop.  I needed a larger vehicle and the Hummer was my only option as the rental company only had one SUV.  Ed has been teasing me ever since.  I guess some people think that men who drive Hummers only do so because the size of the vehicle makes up for the small size of their penises.  Not a problem here.  I drive a Saturn Outlook…usually.  The Hummer is too much attitude for me.  The rental agent did advise me that my Outlook is bigger than the Hummer3 I would be driving.  The big differences I noticed are quality, style and gas mileage.  And the Outlook is so much classier.  You decide.

So size does matter to me after all.  Hands down, way down, I pick the bigger and classier Saturn Outlook over the male ego Hummer vehicle.  Now, BMW is a different story.

Next week we will shooting a new episode of OutTakes.  If you have any questions or suggestions for the show, please e-mail me at tony@outonline.com.

Ed and I want (need) to get away next weekend October 10-12.  Any suggestions?  Send them to tony@outonline.com.

Have a Fab weekend and keep reading…
