Many of you will remember the Prince song that I chose for today’s title. I must ask you not to read to much into it.

A lot has happened this week. We now have a GLBT friendly president that offers hope. Yes, he has world wide Rock Star or POP Star popularity and has the gift that can inspire. Over the past eight years, this country has witness its share of decline. One only needs to look at the high unemployment, economic crisis and stock market collapse to understand that we are definitely in recession.
It was election 2000, Ed and I were pretty depressed watching each state’s return come in. The race was close and at times it appeared Bush would be defeated. Our worst nightmare came true. Bush won (or did he?). I can remember asking Ed this question. What’s the worse that can happen? Later on, history answered that question. Today, we must live with the mistakes of the past administration.
I am a dreamer. I am a fighter.
How can you attacked me for choosing HOPE?
Why is there so much hate?
Let’s face it, we were much better off in the 90s than we are today, but one man is offering us HOPE. The world witnessed history Tuesday. We sent a loud message to the world. Let’s watch what this great leader and human being can do for us and for the world. The battle is there and it will not be easy for President Obama and the country to fight back and retake America. Not only reclaiming, but rediscovering and making America a better place for ALL her citizens. We are on the world stage. The world is watching and hoping.
Prince never apologized for being an outrageous POP star. He looked different, presented his own unique sound and took advantage of his shortcomings. It made him more powerful because he was true to himself. We are much like Prince…different with unique thoughts, new ideas, creative and passionate.
Post 2008 election, I now ask a much different question. How great can we become?
Take away a man’s hope and there you will find the remains of nothing.
My dreams are filled with hope (and that skinny little, purple artist-you know the one I am talking about) reminding me that in America anything is possible.
Keep Reading… and never lose HOPE.
