While in RB…

We are now settled in at Rehoboth Beach, DE for one week.  The Lighthouse Inn www.lighthouseinn.net owners (and friends) were very welcoming.  These guys are wonderful and go out of their way for their friends and guests.  Most of their guests become good friends.  That says a lot about them.

We plan to hangout in this beach town all day and visit some of the hundreds of shops, dine and check out the beach and those who frequent it.  LOL.

Rehoboth Beach still has that gay and lesbian flavor.  Rainbow flags are everywhere.  What was once a gay and lesbian secret has become known and with that discovery comes non-gay people with their families.  The presence of gay men and lesbians is still measurable here and it is definitely a lgbt destination.  This is a great lgbt friendly place and non-traditional families are welcomed!

This Wednesday’s Talk It Out live show at 11am will feature me live from the Lighthouse Inn B&B in RB, along with Jerry, one of LHI’s owners and David Stanton back in Pittsburgh.  This is my hope–of course.  This will be my first remote co-host of the show.  Tune in!  www.outonline.om

Here we go…off to shop, eat and enjoy the beach.

You know what they say…while in Rehoboth, do as the Rehobothians do!  I will let you know exactly what that is later.

IT’S PARTY TIME PITTSBURGH!

It’s PRIDE WEEK and you know what that means…PARTY, PARTY, and more PARTYING.

That is kind of how last weekend played out for me and Ed.  It never stopped.

The weekend started Friday evening with my niece’s graduation.  Long ceremony, but worth it to see her.

Saturday, we attended her graduation party.  It started around 1pm and went into the evening.  It was wonderful seeing some of my relatives that I haven’t seen in a while.  The weather was great too.

Every year, we have a family reunion.  This year, like the past several, I helped organize the event for about 100 people.  We have the reunion at Northmoreland Park in Westmoreland County.  It is centrally located and has a very large, stocked fish pond.  To add excitement to the picnic, we schedule the event during PA’s free fishing days.  Now, I am not much of a fisherman, but this is one of the highlights.  It brings a lot of joy to see everyone having such a great time and how excited the children get during our fishing tournament.  It has grown each year, and most of everyone returns.  Very succesful and fun time.

A lot of time this week will be used for preparation for Pride Sunday.  Ed and I will be at Splash on Thursday, Pride in The Street on Saturday and at our booth on Sunday.  We cannot make Friday’s Pub Crawl because we are having a party for one of our boys.   And, in my world, family comes first.  How straight sounding is that?  That event sounds like a lot of fun.  Our oldest and his girlfriend do the local bar crawl thing from the campus to South Side clubs.   No drinking and driving.  Free drinks too!  I am assuming the Pride Pub Crawl will be similar with the exception that it will be LGBT.  Are you planning to attend any of these events?  If so, say hi!

Tuesday, I will be off.  Off work that is…  It is my kid’s (and mine) school/town picnic at Kennywood.  No better excuse to take the day off!   Remember Kennywood memories?  Please, no rain…

-Out is now active on My Space with over 1500 friends.  We want you!  Check us out at www.myspace.com/pittsburghsout.

I just can’t believe it!

NEVER TOO LATE.

At the end of the weekend, Ed and I had the opportunity to pay our respects to David Morrow at Pegasus on Sunday afternoon.  Scott Noxon, Fritz, Mike, Rodney and their co-workers made David proud by having a first-class memorial service at the downtown bar.   The service was very respectful and the many stories from David’s friends were funny.  We ran into many of David’s friends including Gary Mckillop, Sam and Joe from P-Town, Gary Van Horn and Tom Yargo from Images, Herb Beatty, Bill Kaelin, Chuck Honse, Renee Wau,  and many more of David’s friends and past employees.  It was strange to see so many new and old bar owners and employees together under one roof and getting along.

Today is David’s birthday.

Sometimes we don’t realize what someone means to us until it is too late.  Take the time today to let them know how much you care.

My personal message to my Ed… I love you.  Happy 20th Anniversary.  You mean EVERYTHING  to me!  Today is our anniversary.

Pride is coming soon and do we have some exciting ‘firsts’ for Pittsburgh.  You will have to check us out at the festival for more updates.  Need more info about tickets and events?  Go to www.outonline.com and click on the PRIDE WEEK banner ad.
