Palin Explains Why Her Paul Revere Remarks Were Correct

clip_image001

FOX News Sunday, Sarah Palin told Chris Wallace that her remarks in a Boston bakery explaining that Paul Revere "warned the British" were correct, and it was a "gotcha" question that was thrown at her. Now Palin supporters are working to back up her idiocy.

Said Palin in the bakery:

"He who warned, uh, the … the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms, uh, by ringin’ those bells and, um, by makin’ sure that as he’s ridin’ his horse through town to send those warnin’ shots and bells that, uh, we were gonna be secure and we were gonna be free … and we were gonna be armed."

Palin explains to Wallace:

"Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there that ‘hey, you’re not going to take American arms, you are not going to beat our own well-armed persons individual private militia that we have.’"

Palin supporters are trying to legitimize Palin’s false claims by changing the Wikipedia page on Paul Revere to support them.

Rick Santorum Announces Run for President

clip_image003

Rick Santorum announced that he’s entering the 2012 presidential race this morning on Good Morning America.

In the network interview, Santorum accused President Barack Obama of having a weak foreign policy, saying he doesn’t feel he has stood up sufficiently to Iran and asserting he has done too little to speak out against Syrian President Bashir Assad for the violence there.

Said the former Senator with the Google problem: "We are ready to announce that we are going to be in this race and we’re in it to win."

As you may recall, Santorum has compared same-sex marriage to sex with dogs, has said that it’s "common sense" to keep gays from marrying and adopting children, wants to reinstate the ban on gays in the military, and has said that gays shouldn’t have the "privilege of government benefits" offered to heterosexual couples, yet Santorum claims he’s not a homophobe.

Anti-Gay Group Flies Gay Day ‘Warning’ Over Disney World

clip_image012 clip_image013 clip_image014 clip_image015 clip_image016

A conservative group in Florida has made it their mission to "warn" the people of Orlando about Saturday’s annual Gay Day at Disney World. The hateful Florida Family Association (FFA) says that gays and lesbians lead "immoral lifestyles" and has spent $7,000 to fly banners that read "Warning Gay Day at Disney 6/4" over Orlando for two full days.

From the FFA site:

"Florida Family Association wants to warn these families about this offensive event before they arrive at the Magic Kingdom on Saturday. This airplane banner is our best effort to accomplish that goal…Florida Family Association has asked Disney officials to require Gay Day to be held after hours, like Grad Night or Night of Joy, to avoid offending unsuspecting families who traveled thousands of miles expecting a normal day."

The group currently has looped video of the flyover playing on the home page of its site. They are also urging a ridiculous boycott of the Doubletree by Hilton, the official hotel for Gay Day because The FFA believes they are "sanctioning the celebration of the homosexual, lesbian and transgender lifestyles."

Westboro Baptist Church Brings Anti-Gay Hate to NBA Play-offs

clip_image018

The Westboro Baptist Church has a new target: the NBA and its commissioner David Stern.

The group protested outside the Miami Heat—Dallas Mavericks play-offs game on Sunday, KDAF reports:

But demonstrators didn’t get much support from the fans. "I feel really bad for the kids. Adults have their reasons to have signs up. The kids feel like forced upon", said spectator Shantanu Rangnekar.

"It’s absolutely sad and ridiculous holding a sign saying god hates f*gs”, said spectator Dawn Fisher.

But one man rallied the crowd with his own on counter-protest. "Gay or straight god will love you gay or straight, gay or straight. John 3:16; whosoever believes in him. Not republican, not democrats not straight people, whosoever believes in him, the unidentified man said.
